Go behind the scenes to learn how the Supervisor of Elections Office uses public relations strategies, community outreach, education, and communication tactics to cut through the noise and connect with voters during primary and general elections. Lux will also share how his office reaches beyond election season to educate both adults and young people about the voting process and the importance of civic participation.

Speaker Bio
Paul Lux, Supervisor of Elections
Paul Lux’s twenty-five years in elections serving Okaloosa County, Florida, started in 1999, serving in various capacities until elected Supervisor of Elections in 2008. He served as an officer of the Florida Supervisors of Elections (FSE), starting as Treasurer in 2014 until serving as President during the 2018 elections. As President, he helped guide the FSE through Florida’s historic triple statewide recount.
He currently represents Florida’s local election officials on the EAC Standards Board (EACSB). He served on the EACSB Executive Committee, where he chaired the VVSG Review Committee. He represents the EACSB on the Technical Guidelines Development Committee (TGDC) and represents the TGDC on the Government Coordinating Council (GCC) of the Elections Infrastructure.
Paul served as Vice-Chair of the EI-ISAC Executive Committee (2024-2025) and has served this past year as Chairperson of the EI-ISAC Executive Committee.
Special projects have included: Voting Over the Internet Project (2000), Secure Electronic Registration and Voting Experiment (2004), Okaloosa Distance Balloting Pilot Project (2008), and managing up to thirty-two counties with the Electronic Absentee Systems for Elections (EASE-I and EASE-II) grants (2011 – 2018). He currently works with the Council of State Governments Overseas Voting Initiative (OVI) in partnership with the Federal Voting Assistance Program.
He continues to be a strong advocate for making elections more secure nationwide and for broadening voting opportunities for absent military voters.
Paul is a Certified Elections/Registration Administrator (CERA) with the Election Center.
