Monica Herrera, Secretary and Publicity

Monica Herrera is the Commercial Sponsorship Coordinator for the 96th Force Support Squadron at Eglin Air Force Base (AFB), Florida. She manages the Air Force Commercial Sponsorship & Advertising Program, the sole authorized initiative allowing civilian businesses to secure on-base advertising and sponsorship opportunities. As part of Air Force Materiel Command's (AFMC) largest Force Support Squadron, Eglin AFB's various facilities—including fitness centers, child and youth programs, libraries, and recreational services—benefit from her efforts, receiving crucial funding that enhances programs and events for Eglin's military personnel and their families.

Born at Hickam AFB in Hawaii, Monica grew up immersed in Air Force life, moving between numerous installations. Before her current role with the 96th Force Support Squadron, she held diverse marketing and communication positions. She began her tenure with the 96th FSS in 2017 as a Public Affairs Specialist, transitioning to Commercial Sponsorship Coordinator the following year. She also served as interim Marketing Director.

Monica earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Public Relations, from the University of West Florida, and an Associate in Arts, from Okaloosa Walton Community College (now Northwest Florida State College), in Niceville, FL.
